About Shaking The Chi

I am an introvert by nature, but my "chi"--the circulating life energy Chinese philosophers believe inherent in all things--drives me to quietly influence positive change in the imperfect world in which we live and reinvent myself from time to time as my priorities evolve. I thrive when I'm solving complex problems, whether it's structuring international mergers and acquisitions (career #1: tax attorney), crafting intricately-plotted thrillers (career #2: novelist), or forging a community partnership among PD Gladiators (our nonprofit), doctors, fitness professionals and people with Parkinson's disease, like me, to combat PD with vigorous exercise (career #3: volunteer CEO).
The success of PD Gladiators and its takeover by the Parkinson's Foundation has finally allowed me to begin a long-deferred retirement and search for new problems to solve. I am re-purposing this blog, now entitled Shaking The Chi, to brainstorm progressive ideas about life, politics and living with Parkinson's disease. My goal is to identify problems in need of intervention (in Parkinson's care, as well as social policy) and influence government and charitable organizations with the mission and resources to undertake these projects.
I believe problem-solving is a team sport and encourage you to help make this place an incubator for high impact solutions to the issues that effect us most. Please comment freely on any post--I look forward to developing our ideas together!
